On the weekend of the 16th-17th of September of 2017, Kim and I were hired to perform for the restaurant FOO’D, by Michelin Star restaurant owner Davide Oldani. It was the period of the Formula One, and since the restaurant was at the Victoria Concert Theatre, the symphony of revving engines could be heard in the distance. The two of us were performing on Saturday, whilst Kim performed solo on Sunday.
We were hired to perform our unique close-up magic for the restaurant, and begun almost immediately once we reached the restaurant. The tables were shifted to accommodate for families, and the giant LED screens in the restaurant were showing the Formula One live. I began by approaching a group of friends while they were having their appetizers.
One of my favorite tables that evening was a family of three which I performed a series of ring and coin magic for. They enjoyed it so much that they requested to take a photo with me!
Upon half-time, Kim took the limelight. He proceeded to a family of 8 and started his enigma with cards. The family loved his performance and they gave him a really great applause!
Kim was amazing with his audience members. His artistry continued on Sunday evening, and he managed to get great responses accompanied with screams and compliments. One of the compliments that he received was “Great sleight of hand and very fast fingers!”
One of my favorite tables was a Japanese family of 10 that were so amazed that they were yelling and screaming during the moment of magic taking place. It brings me absolute joy to see the audience having a good time and enjoying themselves ~ Kim
Overall, we had a fabulous time performing for FOO’D by Davide Oldani. The staff and managers were all extremely hospitable and we would love to be able to perform for them and their prestigious guests anytime again. Till next time!
